The longer days, warmer temperatures, and even the rain reminds us that spring is less than a month away. There is never a bad season for science, but springtime provides us with more opportunities to use natural materials and to see things in a brand new way. The following four experiments are a fun way to welcome in spring, and help your children understand how the world works around them.

Learn how seeds start to grow  (Science Sparks)

Teach your child about the germination process and discover the conditions needed for a seed to grow in this fun and simple experiment.

Search for signs of spring (Rhythms of Play)

Enjoy the longer days and warmer weather by searching for nature’s seasonal sights and writing down observations.

Make your own rain (Learn ~ Play ~ Imagine)

When the spring rainy weather doesn't allow for outdoor play, try this fun science experiment that provides a hands-on demonstration to answer the question, "how does it rain?"

Create a rainbow (Little Bins for Little Hands)

One of the best things to come from rainy days are colorful rainbows! With this fun water science experiment, you and your children won't have to wait til the rain stops to see one.
