Nats Game-1

My name is Alison Cheetham and I am the Activities Coordinator for the Boarding Life Program. I grew up in the North of England and am crazy for all things British. I earned a degree in Sports Science from Newcastle University and have always been passionate about outdoor activities and sports - both playing and watching. I moved to Maryland in 2007 and have loved getting to know the area, meeting new people, and learning about life in the US.

The Westview Dorm staff at SSFS cares deeply about the whole student and aims to provide ways in which they can be challenged and exposed to the unfamiliar, acquire new skills, explore other cultures, and build a community. Each student is very important to us, and we appreciate that they all have different likes and learning styles.

To this end, we have developed a fun-filled, varied selection of local outings, and provide our boarding students wonderful opportunities to participate in weekend activities throughout the academic year.

Excursions include professional sports games, theme parks, skiing and other outdoor athletics, escape rooms, crafts sessions, cultural nights, and so much more.

Most activities are held on Saturday afternoons or early evenings. Our boarding students enjoy getting off-campus together and discovering what the region has to offer.

Please refer to the  Activities Calendar for the 2020 schedule, and if you have any questions please contact me at Alison.Cheetham@ssfs.org, or 301-774-7455 ext 370.
